Summary
Currently under construction, this moon is occupied by the ISA and Phirrukup who were pushed back after the Den-si uprising. Karsh-ith is currently in a pivotal growth period. Mainly occupied by Phirrukup, the construction of this moon is being worked on jointly with the ISA in order to provide a stable military presence against a possible threat from the Phirruden. Similarly, it allows for a base of military operations outside of the Tal-Pandora where resentment against ISA holding grows.Construction is also being funded in part by the Savin government. The Alteen hope to see their investment bare fruit in extended relations with the high-growth system, and with the budding populations of Phirruden and Phirrukup.
History
Poor Quality
The Ucual Corporation ignored Karsh-ith as the small moon bore nothing more than some smallish resource harvesting. The earliest and oldest parts of the modern colonies are little more than these tightly cramped mining facilities.A sizable contingent of Syntek workers mined her for some time, which makes the aged facilities of that time even more ill-suited for human use.
Need Arises
A need arose once Ucual had been liberated: a need of a safe-harbor for a splintered population. Worse the ISA forces that garrisoned the Tal-Pandora gateway eventually began to overstep their authority and under pressure for a less heavy-handed transit authority were forced to reduce their presence. With two large populations, one of refugee supporters and the other of their military liberators the only option was to build and build fast.
Luna Modeling
Karsh-Ith is adopting the same structure that has made Luna such a pivotal force in the Sol System. Developing a layered, defensible structure that digs down into the surface of the moon is not surprising some say, considering the ISA hand at both this moon and upon Luna.At present no great rifts exist like upon Luna, but the first levels of several disjointed moon cities exist. A transit rail system links all of the larger cities already, and the smaller bud-cities are expanding steadily as more money and travelers decide to give the system a try. Thanks to this proper funding Karsh-Ith could very well surpass the dwarf planet it orbits in growth and importance to the non Den-Si of the system.
Government & Culture
A Helping Hand
Few other places in the universe are as congenial as Karsh-Ith, where the people must rely upon one another for support in developing a collective future. Here there is a direct and threatening enemy and as such it is a constant challenge if you go alone.Even the ISA forces would have a far-harder time operating in the system if there existed fewer Phirrukup supporters. Working to make this easier the ISA command has been replacing the hard-nosed military leaders with softer commanders more apt to handle large bodies of non-military personnel. Even in the short period of time since this strategy began great improvements in goodwill have been seen.
ISA and the Alteen are working to establish a solidified government model for the Phirrukup, recognizing that to stand firm against the highly organized Den-Si Military Party they must act decisively as a group. For budding political figures Karsh-Ith and the surrounding area offer up great opportunities to make a difference.
Points of Interest
Binut Involvement
The Binut wasted no time in coming to the aid of the Phirrukup after the investigations and eventual collapse of the Ucual Corporation's occupation of the system. The Alteen often funds the searches and bounty for remaining Ucual managers and top-level scientists that have yet to be brought to justice. This has strengthened the relationship between the Phirrukup and the Binut, promising to bring the two groups mutual benefits as they pool resources to build a future that otherwise wouldn't exist for the Phirrukup.
A large Alteen consulate exists on Karsh-Ith and a growing number of Barella corporations are finding the incentives in place to expand into the Ucual system too appealing to pass up.
