Eris

Eris is a scattered colony of smugglers, pirates, and refugees. Its original funding company went bankrupt soon after construction began on a colony. The remaining work was completed with whatever tools and materials some scrupulous investors could get their hands on. Due to this and other factors such as an inability to dock larger class vessels, the small colony is frequented only by those who can otherwise go without the amenities recognized as standard in other colonies.

Hills Cloud is growing as traffic pushes deeper into the Oort Cloud and beyond to other systems. Eris has returned to the radar of Astrum with a new Deputy Station opened two years ago acting as a new landing pad for police activity in the region. Some question has been raised within the agency as to the quality of information passing through the Station. Police auditors note that more dirty money passes through the colony than clean and could be a key factor in the effectiveness of police activity.

With growing traffic in the region Eris is poised to receive the interest of new investors. The question remains, what type of money will be behind these investors.
