Ba'ret Tigel
Summary
Ba'ret Tigel was once a mining operation, but this was always a cover for the production of illegal drugs, exotic drinks, and other rare creations. The entire operation was supervised by a group of outlaw business men and women on a base nearby - likely somewhere within the Alkes Field but speculation abouts and some fingers point towards Oort Cloud operations.Ba'ret Tigel, maintained a steady stream of smugglers and bootleggers under the cover of ore transports that would land through the thin atmosphere and transport their questionable or out-right illegal products to markets throughout the galaxy. Astrum and Sol governments know of what is going on, but debates continued over what to do about it. True, Ba'ret Tigel had become a haven to those who sought to prosper outside the constraints of the law, but the colony is still a small planet rich with numerous, natural resources like much in the Ras Elased system.
Since the initial days the planet has been scarred by the trade, and to this day recovers - illicit activities in place despite it all.

Booze & Bombs
Despite some objections, Astrum struck first with a light attack force of both gunboats and squadrons of fighters. After destroying or arresting most resistance in the area, a larger freighter was brought into orbit over Ba'ret Tigel and, without allowing for the evacuation of anyone, began its planetary bombardment.Half of the planet's surface was forever changed and its atmosphere was filled with dust that left Ba'ret Tigel in an eternal night. Despite the dust having settled a few years ago, the planet has remained, for the most part, abandoned until recently with numerous groups moving back in to reclaim and rebuild. Few feel that the resurgance of interest in the world can mean anything but more of the same - yet after the last fiasco few are calling for involvment. Fewer people were hurt by the trade than the freighter, right?
Who defines what is beauty and splendor on this extra-solar world has yet to be determined as the parties interested in the redeveloping colonies are staying shadowy at best.
