Xu-Sucha
Summary
Xu-Sucha is the homeworld of the Phirrus. The planet consists of many small islands with land bridges between each. When desired these land bridges can be submerged into the ocean with the help of controlled dams. The planet, set up very similar to earth has an equator as well. Each island hosts a different climate, ranging anywhere from desert or tropical climates near the equator, to colder climates near its poles. Of course, similar to earth in this fashion, certain places are not suitable to the Phirrus body types, and thus few live there because of the harsher conditions. Those who do live in the harsher regions live in the underground facilities that were originally used by the Ucual Corporation. Also it is speculated that these facilities are where some of the prisoners of the Phirrus are being held.
This planet is primarily controlled by the Phirruden, being one of the more central planets. Since the Phirrus’ takeover, cities have been established on each island under constant construction. Each has their own unique agriculture and trade potential. All land bridges have been raised unless there has been particular tension between the clans that keep them from participating in trade.
In terms of the social and political structure, a wide variety of clans have taken root in their respective islands. It is speculated that this may stem from the groups of Phirrus that were held captive together sticking with each other after their freedom. If you were to travel from one island to the next, you would not necessarily be welcome or even fully understand the Phirrus who populate it. Specific clans have developed bits and pieces of their own dialect per island, and because they do not all necessarily agree on matters involving the future of their race, and what islands "belong" to whom. This of course leads to a constant struggle between clans, and has led to countless conflicts and continued hatred between islands.
History
During the experimentation of the Ucual Corporations, they used this world as a testing grounds for different types of environments, those that would suit the Phirrus the best, and adjust their genetic structure accordingly. This world was a main base of operations during the hidden projects, and had been originally terra-formed by Synteks, much like many other systems. Synteks were later used for slave labor and transporting Phirrus from location to location. This may somewhat explain why many of the Phirrus still blatantly refuse to acknowledge Synteks as a race.Government & Culture
The government on Xu-Sucha was established after the most prominent clans decided to try and establish control with the [1]. While more recently its power has been running thin, it is still surviving off of the man-power and funds provided by the clans that litter the planet. The government is set up in a way that allows each of the clans to have their own power, within each of their islands, similar to that of individual states. However, ultimately they answer to the main government, and all government discussions are carried out in the Den-Si parliament. There is an ISA presence within the government, however after the conflict between the Den-Si and ISA, the ISA has very little say in matters discussed in the parliament.
Points of Interest
Clan Juxtaposition
A common problem that many Phirrus face to date is the disagreement between the ideals of the Phirruden and the Phirrukup. For example, a family that maintains a strictly -den ideology, my have a family member that is more sympathetic to the -kup cause, and thus they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They are unable to voice their opinions, because they may loose all that they have or be outcast from their friends and loved ones.In turn, there may also be those who are very -den supportive, and their clans have since moved on to -kup space, leaving the -den supporters behind and alone. It is a severe social problem that plagues many places in the Ucual system, but none as strong as on Xu-Sucha, their homeworld.
This conflict in ideals has led to certain underground movements popping up in order to maintain one way of life or the other. It has also only increased xenophobia for the Phirruden, because they feel that because of this -kup support, they don't even know who in their own clan they can trust.
