Summary

Scattered across the surface of this moon are platforms that can be accessed only by those who have the physical ability to reach them, the Phirrus. There are no access points to the platforms by any other way than leaping heights of 10 feet into the air, which allows the Phirruden that live on the moon to feel safely isolated. These platforms have additional platforms built on top of them, so they create a seemingly endless pyramid-like architecture.Below these platforms on the surface of the planet, vegetation and livestock is grown and taken care of.

History

Period of Construction

Levare-Xu was the second location within the Ucual system to be inhabited after the Phirrus were liberated. The Ucual Corporation had originally terra-formed Levare-Xu, but had never gotten the chance to actually use the moon in their experiments. Of the many groups of Phirruden that spread out among the system, those who decided to inhabit Levare-Xu were the more technologically inclined. Among them was a Phirrus by the name of Xam-Lirucha-Rechas, of the Xam clan, later to be known as the chief architect of what soon became a safe haven for those Phirrus who desired solitude.

Using the Syntek who had formerly been working on Xu-Sucha under the command of the Ucual Corporation for manual labor, Rechas constructed a variety of pyramid shaped platforms that towered high above the soil below. Almost four years to the day of the anniversary of the Phirrus liberation Rechas was killed after being crushed underneath an ill-rigged platform that was being erected.

In honor of Rechas, the Phirruden decided to erect a statue in his honor. It continues to stand between three of the platforms, reaching as high up as the tallest tier of the smallest platform, "Levanas Xam".

At the end of the sixth year of construction, the final platform was erected, and stands over fifty stories high. To date there are twelve platforms scattered across the surface of the moon.

Agriculture, A Transition Period

During the construction of the platforms scattered across Levare-Xu's surface, the fertile soil below was used to grow a wide variety of foliage. Those seeds and animals brought along with the first ship to arrive on the moon became the stable source of sustenance for the Phirruden.

As the end of the platform construction was on the horizon however it became quite clear to the inhabitants of the moon that they were growing to numbers, whether they be from births or migration from other planets, that were beginning to exceed the amount of resources that were needed to maintain the inhabitants.

In order to quell this increasing threat, the government Levare Lunar Tribunal, or the LLT that had been organized decided to enact the "Anti-Immigration Act of 3207", and even threatened to send some of those inhabitants who were more recently accepted into their midst back to where they came from.

Despite their best efforts, even with the influx of Phirrus migrants slowed to a halt, it was already too late. Famine began to strike many cities around the moon, and even construction on the mighty platforms were postponed. In desperation the government was forced to negotiate with other Den-si controlled bodies in the system to allow the migration of people to their moon, with the stipulation that they be provided with enough food in return to sustain their people until they could reach the point in which they could become independent of this charity and trade.

After a good amount of time had passed, the construction of the platforms neared completion, and Phirrus began to move into their domiciles located on the many platforms. It was found that plants had a much harder time breathing with the increased elevation. This restricted what vegetation and livestock could be moved along with the Phirrus, only allowing those with larger lung capacities to accompany them.

This led to the finely structured trade system they developed with the outside planets and moons. The government negotiated with Xu-Sucha especially to trade aesthetic and technological creations of the Phirruden of Levare-Xu, for continued trade of resources to maintain and flourish livestock and vegetation.

As the Phirruden completed their move to the platforms above, there were those who stayed behind, or who lived on the edges of the lowest tiers in order to continue their agricultural duties.

Unwanted Visitors

As the Ucual system became open to those on the outside, more and more visitors began to arrive after hearing rumors of glorious structures and exotic creations. Of course the Phirruden did not take what they believed to be an "intrusion" lightly. All non-Phirrus, and Phirrukup were banned from the moon, and any who dared try and enter were immediately either sent away or fined for their blatant disregard for Phirruden privacy.

To date, the only outsiders allowed on the moon itself are ambassadors that are only allowed in for political purposes. They are generally not taken very well, and are even met by the "Xeno-Reception Expert", a made up profession in order to keep the outside governments at bay. This blatant refusal to cooperate with any outsiders generally does not prompt a second visit. However, there are always more and more "explorers" eager to catch even one peek at the fabled pyramid platforms. Despite the outsiders never being able to actually physically reach these platforms, their curiosity has caused increasing amounts of conflict with the Phirruden of Levare-Xu and has led to increased xenophobia.

It is quite hard to actually acquire any real Levare-made goods because of this xeno-phobia, and they can only be acquired on the black market.

Government & Culture

Lunar Tribunal

The Levare Lunar Tribunal was established in 3188. The LLT's primary duty was originally to oversee the construction of the platforms, and manage the population and each individuals share of work. However as the tribunals scopes broadened, and various problems began to arise, it was decided that a more stable organized political unit needed to be put in place. The task of construction management was left to the head architect, a founding member of the LLT, Xam-Lirucha-Rechas. While the LLT was Den-Si based, this new political unit that was to be formed was has tried to be a little more focused and loyal to the original ideology of the Den-Si.

Points of Interest

Architecture

The Xam-Lirucha-Rechas Statue was erected after the death of the chief architect of the wondrous pyramid like platforms, it stands in the gap between Levanas Xam, Levanas Tran, and Levanas Sentera (representing the clans that live on them, and commonly referred to by their second names, e.g. Xam, Tran, Sentera). There lie the remains of the beacon of hope for the Phirruden on Levare-Xu. His statue is the only thing that links the fertile soil below, to the towering heights of his pyramids. He is a constant reminder to the Phirrus of how much they can achieve as long as the continue to strive to reach for the skies yet still keeping their feet somewhat firmly upon the ground.

To those outside Phirrus that come to trade with Levare-Xu, it is often confused with some kind of idol worship, and because of this, various rumors have been passed around the system and caught the attention of unwanted parties.
