Callisto
Callisto is the outermost of the Galilean moons over Jupiter, and the second largest in the sector. An interesting feature of the moon is that it rotates synchronously with its orbital period, so one side is always facing Jupiter while the other always faces away from the gas giant. This, combined with a largely stable surface, has made the moon an ideal location for numerous colonies.History
For years following the initial colonization of Ganymede, Callisto served little more as a secondary way station for the sector - helping relieve Ganymede of some excess traffic to the sector. Warehouses were constructed to stockpile the surplus materials arriving from Earth to help construct the infant colonies in Jovian space. Over time, several small, opportunistic vendors began transforming Callisto's small colony into a destination for the human workers on Ganymede to get some rest and relaxation. Its reputation as a vacation spot began to grow, but its early days were dominated with bars, nightclubs, and other venues designed to appeal to the simple needs of the mostly male construction workers. This was most common in the original outpost, Grisham Outpost.
Today, its key industry remains tourism with resorts designed to bask in the eternal glow of Jupiter and others forever shrouded in the stars. This influx of visitors has also attracted related businesses such as various theaters, restaurants, and retail stores.
