Home of the galaxy's greatest ship yards. This moon that is slightly larger than Earth's own lacks any form of solid land on its surface. Surprisingly, the entire planet is covered in a bizarre gelatinous substance. The first colonists to the system quickly realized the substance's strengthening effect on the metal of ships. Since that time, the Ari-X claimed it as their own and have developed hundreds of "floating" ship yards across the surface.
Once ship's hull is completed, the ship is dropped down into the substance and will float on it or become submerged in it until construction is complete. This mote of peculiar liquid in space, with an atmosphere so thin that humans cannot breath without assistance, produces the most highly sought after ships and shipwrights.

Ship-Running
Covered almost entirely in the famous floating shipyards, Capella produces dozens of ships each month. However, before any ship is officially handed over to its buyer it must be tested for integrity and efficency first. Many yards keep numerous pilots stationed on Capella for just such a purpose. These men/women are known as shiprunners whose job it is to thoroughly test out a ship's many systems. Typically, 2-3 people are placed on the vessel, including the pilot, in order to sufficiently analyze the ship. This job is not easy nor is it safe, but it is the greatest experience a pilot can hope to receive in terms of operating the widest assortment of ships possible. In addition to the possible threat of a system collapse or malfunction, many pirate houses will target these ships as they make their test runs, sometimes, as far as Osiris. Afterall, most weapon systems are left off for test runs. As one might expect, extensive background checks are done on those conducting these tests, but corruption is still prominent enough to institute several new safeguards against theft.
