Triton

Triton is the only moon of significant in orbit above Neptune. Its surface is covered in a thick layer of ice that hides a dense core of rock rich in metal ore.

First colonized illegally by several overzealous mining concerns, Triton has grown into a booming mining colony. As the only permanent settlement between Pluto and those worlds farther sunward it enjoys a steady flow of vessels as they pass through the independent sectors.

Any visitors to these rugged outposts should exercise caution. Thieves and pickpockets are plentiful, and there have been several reports of stowaways after departing from Triton. Pilots will be wise to keep a guard at their ship

The nitrogen geysers on this geologically active moon have been the source of many mining accidents.
