Datalink

Navigating the Wiki

For newcomer the sheer scope of Starborn can be overwhelming, but fear not - everything is easily at hand. Newcomers will find that the game is established in such a fashion that it's content is easily approachable. Facilitating this is the powerful Datalink software which operates on the same level as popular Wiki engines behind Wikipedia.

Format

The Datalink is the "game manual" for all things Starborn, just as on other network games their individual mirrors of the Datalink will serve the same purpose. Pages contained in the Datalink are interlocked through the links within them, with a few types of links existing.

Players will run into each with varying frequency so it's important to understand them.

Link to another Wiki Page

These links appear as either RED or ORANGE.

The difference being that an ORANGE link is an active Datalink link like this example which will lead you to the main Starter's Guide. Conversely a RED link is pointing to a non-functional wiki page, other examples of these are found pointing towards pages in the game manual that have yet to be expanded.

Link to Another Site

Links to other sites will come in one of two forms.

Reference links will display as numeric links as follows: [1]Yet some links may be placed inline in the typical fashion and appear as if they were Datalink entries. Be aware of this, we will work to provide a simple method for differentiating links soon.

Table of Contents (TOC)

A table of contents is a common navigational element used on the site that can be found on many pages. These provide quick navigation links to move to specific content on larger pages. An example for this page follows, allowing you to test the elements simple functionality.
