Female Rights

Years of unilateral growth have given the early-era activists for female rights almost everything they could have dreamed. Equality between the sexes reigns across most of the known universe.

In the modern world its a rare thing to find much conflict amongst the sexes in the workplace or the political realm on highly developed and connected worlds. However inequality does exist, primarily in worlds and colonies where areas of significant hardship exists. Worlds given to early-stage development are at highest risk to engender inequality as the struggles and trials of the colonists years in early system histories help break down progress.

Minority Inequality

Despite the equality between the sexes there are some minority sects which elect to pursue less open-minded lifestyles. These men and women opt for ideological, religious, or other personal reasons to curtail their own rights or the rights of others.

These largely minority populations can be found even on highly developed worlds and exist as small sub-cultures on worlds and colonies that are discriminated against by the larger population.

Factors of Inequality

Gender ratios

If there are significantly more of one gender than there are of the other, then it becomes difficult for the minority to achieve power, status, and/or rights in society.

Religious doctrine

Many religions, even modern ones value one gender over another and this is a unceasing source of gender conflict.

Ethnic/Racial Traditions

Often times the resurgent cultural attitudes amongst the colonies help to foster gender inequality. These are hold-overs of thought from times when the larger view of men and women was of two wholly separate pieces.
