JherroA full-sized planet, smaller than Desh but still a good sized planet comparable to earth. It lies closer to the sun than Desh, and thus enjoys a warmer climate comparatively, though it is still frigid to many sentient species. It has expansive oceans, a number of large continents, and along its equator is a "belt" of volcanic islands where the water approaches tropical temperatures, allowing for a substantially different lifestyle there compared to the rest of the world. This is where the Maridesh make their home, amidst tropical islands, swimming in warm seas, and enjoying the abundant precipitation that occurs where the warm tropical waters meet the cold currents which flow down from the poles.
On the main continents where the Jherro Maridesh make their homes, there are large fishing communities that dot the coastlines, the seas are abundant with life that thrives in the rich seas, with a full food chain based upon bountiful algae and plankton that live upon the minerals and nutrients in the ocean. Further inland, in dome-protected facilities, massive aeroponics and traditional agricultural facilities sprawl over the flat tundra, providing large quantities of produce and meat which, hand in hand with the produce and fish provided by Maridesh seafarms and the fishing communities, ensures that food is bountiful and cheap, a fortunate fact as much food isshipped from Jherro to Habakkuk to support the more barren planet's agricultural industries.
The rest of the tundra is dotted with industrial towns, many sprouting up around large manufacturing plants or massive strip mines which bore underneath the permafrost to reach the large deposits of minerals and metals that dot the planet. Most towns are covered by a dome, which can be sealed off in the coldest months to provide a solid barrier against the freezing cold and deadly winds which will ravage the tundra during the long winters. Due to the nature of their worlds, while many Desh do indeed travel the world (and the known galaxy) in pursuit of their careers, due to the self-contained nature of the Desh towns, few Desh leave their hometowns unless they have to, simply due to the distances between most towns and the harshness of the environment (and the Desh's own predilection towards associating with those they know most intimately).
Jherro was named after the lead terraformologist who led the project to reshape the world. After Habakkuk proved to be too harsh an environment by many standards of living, another planet was chosen, this one closer to the system's sun, and the project was begun with the intention of creating a more hospitable planet. The goal was successful, Jherro, though harsher a world than earth, is abundant in life and bounty, and now boasts a population significantly larger than Habakkuk itself, the mother world of the Desh.
