Starter's Guide
Starborn is played as a traditional play-by-post, or PbP RPG, where players congregate on a site-wide forum to tell their individual stories, and impact the game's storyline as a whole.Yet unlike other PbP RPGs, Starborn expands the traditional model to include a detailed character management system that allows players to advance their character through story and the game mechanics that glue it all together. Our system is part of the InMyth Network and runs on the IGD Platform.
Everyday that a player is active he or she is able to post in either in-character, IC, or out-of-character, OOC, forums. The IC forums are tracked for activity, and through this players acquire money, credits, and experience points (XP). Players use these to develop their character by acquiring or advancing skills, shopping for items like weapons or various tools, and forming player organizations like ship crews, guilds, and/or clans.
