Governments

With humanity spanning many star systems, there now exists many multi-planet empires that vary greatly in their strength, diplomacy, etc. Here is a list of all major government entities sorted by their strength.

Alteen

Comprised of Savin, Armaria, Ifus and Rottemsch this small but growing collective government expanded rapidly in the past two hundred years. Originating as a statement against the larger powers in the Sol System the Alteen now operates on two worlds and a moon, and can even be found far-off dabbling in the Phirrus conflict in Ucual. This government is less a militaristic power and more an economic giant with cash, knowledge, and skills to leverage.

Government Model

The Binut operate under a complex inclusive democratic government. Interestingly the Binut believe that all residents of Savin are life-time members of this process and allow for remote voting as well as deeper involvement through a government sponsored issue center. From anywhere in the known universe members may bring issue to their government on a level beyond any other.

Military Forces

Lacking sizable military power by their own election the Alteen do maintain a small, highly paid Tin-Guard known for their bravado and heart. These forces are broken into a crushes on each of the three member-worlds and also replace private company security on all Alteen embassy and diplomatic missions.

Den-Si Military Party

Government Model

The Den-Si Military Party operates as a loose parliamentary system where representatives rise up from the most prominent factions of society. These representatives meet and hand down direction for the young government on issues ranging from assignments of office to taxes and tariffs. The various powers in parliament are continually vying for the power.

Military Forces

The Den-Si possess a growing military that got a quick start by unethically defaulting on unknown amounts of debt used to purchase equipment and ships necessary to get the young government off its feet. Since then no outside military-level trade has been allowed, as the true intentions of such purposes are now known. Still the foundation is laid and growing such that the Den-Si can produce their own armament.

Inner Sol Alliance

Composing primarily Earth, Venus, Mercury, and Mars, the ISA is understandably the largest and most powerful government force today. They control the Lagrange Stations as well as the original, most sophisticated Sol Dyson Cloud. The ISA is sometimes pronounced as a two-syllable word, I-ZA, as slang.

Government Model

The ISA is based on a form of democracy, so they have a presidency and a parliament with representatives of all its major colonies including space stations.

Military Forces

Earth is shrouded in the most advanced planetary defense system known to man, and the ISA fleet, based on Luna, exercise dominate control in the space above and between its member worlds. Its ships use the designation ISS for Inner Sol Ship, and none is more powerful than the ISS Cortega, now serving as the admiral's ship.

In addition to its fleet, ISA maintains a significant number of ground forces on Earth, Luna, and Mars. In fact, Mars hosts the majority of ISA's boot camps for its Army - which also includes Mecha Suit Divisions.

The ISA also has a significant presence on Pluto where it supplements the local police force managing the busiest interstellar way station, Tal Narcis.

Jovian League

The sole power in the space above Sol System's largest gas giant, Jupiter, is controlled by the Jovian League. This includes an intricate, heavily populated network of colonies on the Jovian moons, Ganymede, Europa, and Callisto. The JL was once a great rival in power to the ISA, but after the Syntek Uprising, the Jovian League was crippled for centuries. Even today, the JL has yet to recover its former glory.

Government Model

The Jovian League is ruled by an aristocracy comprising several royal houses, or families. These houses are seen as a form of nobility, and only members of them have any real power in this society. From them, a King is crowned that typically stays in the same family until there are no worthy descendants or a coupe is attempted. The current line of succession has not been broken since the recovery from the Syntek Uprising over 300 years ago.

Military Forces

During the Jovian League's golden age, the JL fleet, with ships designated by JLS or Jovian League Ship, was a powerful rival to that of the ISA. However, it lost much of its former might after the heavy losses the JL suffered at the hands of liberated Synteks. Today, like at its inception, both the JL fleet and ground forces are comprised of divisions contributed by each of the royal houses. A handful of ships and perhaps up to several thousand soldiers are affiliated with each royal house, and each house is obligated to lend its forces to form the JL forces under the direct control of the King.

Independent Worlds of Sol

A loose alliance of outer Sol colonies, the Sol Indies - as it is often called - comprises such member worlds as Titan, Triton, and Pluto. The alliance's primary goal is resolve disputes between member worlds and promote fair trade practices. For more information, visit the page for the Independent Worlds of Sol.
